Sharing my writing weaknesses...

As I sit here at this desk and try to gather my thoughts for this post, I realize that I have several areas of weakness in this author persona. The first area is my ability to come up with a synopsis for whatever book I'm working on. When I did Meeting Dr. Feelgood, I stumbled and tripped over myself so much that I wanted to throw my laptop and quit. I mean it was my first time doing anything like it and I had no clue what I was doing. However, Saving Rachel only took me two attempts and I was completely happy with it. But then that brings me to my next area of weakness. Book titles. I have the hardest time coming up with titles for my stories. I'm not sure why but I do. I wrestle with them and try to figure out some great title that winds up being short of what I'm going for. Thankfully, my awesome editor helps me flush this out during our process. (That woman is amazing and I really am grateful for her. Shout out to Leanore Elliott) Then I wonder, how do other authors come up with titles? I don't know if this is just because I'm new to this or if it's something that everyone has trouble with. I mean I'm half way through my current book and I have YET to come up with a title. I'm not sure at what point it will come to me but I'm hoping that it will.
I also want to work on both of these areas of weakness in 2019. I'd really like to improve my craft and work on perfecting my skills. But how? If anyone has any tips to share on how I can improve these two areas, please let me know. I'm open to suggestions.
